What Does an Appraisal Cost?
We offer both consultations that provide a verbal range of value and formal written appraisal reports, depending on your needs.
Consultation with Verbal Range of Value
No Research Required
A consultation providing a verbal range of value for a single item or a group of up to three objects when research is not required.
$100
Minor Research Required
A consultation providing a verbal range of value for a single item or a group of up to three objects requiring limited research.
$250 per hour
To schedule a consultation, please submit the following through our contact form :
• High-resolution photographs of the object(s), including front and back, photographed against a colored background (not white)
• Dimensions of each item. Including a ruler or familiar object in the photograph is helpful for scale
• Collection history, including how the item was acquired and any available receipts
• Names of any experts who have previously provided opinions on the object(s)
Verbal consultations are conducted via phone or Zoom. An invoice will be emailed prior to the appointment.
For larger collections requiring more extensive research, we are happy to schedule a preliminary conference call to review the material and determine the appropriate scope of work.
Written Appraisal Report
Formal written appraisal reports are prepared in accordance with USPAP and the International Society of Appraisers Appraisal Report Writing Standards.
Following an initial review of your objects, a written proposal will be created with an estimate of completion time.
$250 per hour
To begin the appraisal process, please provide the following through our contact form:
• Purpose of the appraisal (insurance, charitable donation, estate, personal use, etc.)
• Photographs that meet the standards described above
• A list of items to be examined, organized by category, including the number of items in each category
• Owner information and contact details
• Desired completion date, if applicable
